College Credit Plus

College Credit Plus Overview:

Ohio’s College Credit Plus can help you earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Taking a college course from a public college or university is free. That means no cost for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.

This program is available to students who will be in grades 7-12 next year and meet the application requirements of a college or university. (GPA, ACT, etc.)

Under the College Credit Plus (CCP) program students are able to fulfill their high school graduation requirements and earn college credit at the same time. Tuition for the college courses may be covered through state funding and can give students the advantage of starting the transition to college early.  Students can take courses on a college campus or at Lake Center.

There are several courses offered at Lake Center that are part of the CCP program.  In order to take advantage of earning college credit, students will need to apply to the sponsoring university during late winter before the next school year. Students and parents are responsible for knowing and keeping the deadlines of prospective CCP colleges and the State of Ohio in order to qualify for participation. An updated timeline is posted on the Ohio Department of Education website usually late fall. Please check this website OFTEN!! (see link below)
